The Gateway Arch Part 1
During 1867-1874 a man by the name of James Buchanan Eads, built the Eads bridge that spans the Mississippi River in St. Louis, MO.  It was the first bridge to span the Mississippi and it is a beautiful one too.  Here is a close up of part of the bridge.

Our first exciting stop in July, on the way up north, was The Gateway Arch.  It was completed in 1965 and my first visit was in 1968 and I have been to it several times since.

Camp Blanding

Yesterday, we visited Camp Blanding Museum. The base was constructed in 1940 to train U.S. Army divisions. During WWII, Camp Blanding was the 4th largest in Florida. It operated clinics, hospitals, railroad depot, housing, water, theaters, commissary, and much more.

Eggs

While we visited the farm on Tuesday, my friend let the girls collect eggs.

These are chickens.  They lay one egg a day. 

The girls collected three chicken eggs.  You do know what part of the chicken the egg comes from, right?
Two eggs went into brownies.  One had to be thrown out, because it was cracked.
