I have decided to go back to one of my favorite crafts, embroidery. I haven’t done it in many year, so for my first little project, I decided to do a Celtic cross. I was thinking of making them into Christmas ornaments. This design is from Celtic Quilting by Gail Lawther, which I got at the library. She has beautiful ideas and designs.
Here is the front view. I am sorry the picture is fuzzy, but I tried several times and couldn’t do it. I have a cheap camera. As you can see, I need to improve myself. My stitches need to be more even and I shouldn’t have started on something that needs to be symmetric. LOL
Here is the back view. I have always been taught that the back of your work should look like the front. Well…looks like I need practice on this side too.

< ![CDATA[Looks good to me! I really enjoy embroidering as well. Trouble is my left-handedness, everything must be transposed in my mind before it works out; we just need to keep ploughing ahead.]]>

< ![CDATA[I think it looks beautiful. I'm one of those who wants to improve too. I'm also one of those who seems to have split focus between embroidery and knitting and sometimes just sits back and does some cross-stitch when it all gets too much. But it's lovely and inspiring to see other's work. Thank you.]]>

< ![CDATA[I never quite got the front/back thing when I was cross-stitching either. I like your work Michelle. Since CC's daughter made those beautiful tea towels, I've been thinking a bit more about embroidery.]]>

< ![CDATA[Sheri, I have a set of pillow cases that I have to finish embroidering. I was making them for my girls, but have decided to keep for myself. LOL They are Southern Belles, embroidered at the top, but the flowing skirt is crocheted.]]>

< ![CDATA[Hi Appliejuice. Thanks for leaving me a comment on my blog re my embroidery- as you could see I'm still working this whole blog thing out. Very novice blogger, I am. I had a bit of time this morning to have a better look through your blog. Wow! It's amazing... really organised and so many things happening EVERYWHERE. You must be really tech savvy as well as crafty. I'd love to see those "Southern Belles". And Christmas cookies on an apron pocket sounds very, very gorgeous.]]>

< ![CDATA[Hi Changeling, I have to finish embroidering the lady part, before I can start to crochet. I'll get them on here soon.
No, I am not tech savvy. Just got a lot of help from some friends. :)
The cookie pattern that I am going to use for the pockets are at http://www.angelfire.com/art2/oldbear/colorpics.html . It is a coloring page. I will just trace using a pencil.]]>
